Sibelus Tip No. 1

Francis Koerber utilizes a Macintosh workstation and Sibelius Software to create original works and arrangements.

"The power of Sibelius is simply stunning.

It allows one to compose 'on the fly' by performing the work into the application with a MIDI keyboard or note by note via the mouse and keyboard.

In times past a composer could not realize and perfect his works until they were performed by the musicians themselves. He would then go back to the full score, make revisions, rerwite the parts and days later be able to hear the revisions once put in front of the musicians again. Today, it is quite possible to perfect a work in a single sitting at the computer because it can 'perform' the work using sampled instruments (simulations) which allows one to fabricate a realization.

To the left on this page are some of the Sibelius Realizations that I have created from my own compositions. Realizations are the perfect bridge to help musicians understand the texture, harmony, tempi and tone of a work.

Once perfected Sibelius is able to instantly publish a printed score, parts and an audio realization as an mp3 file.

Bravo Sibelius!"
